Court Restraints Pyagbara

A High Court siting in Nchia, Eleme local government area yesterday restrained former president of MOSOP, Legborsi Pyagbara from setting up an electoral commitee, conducting elections or setting up a caretaker committee for the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP.

Information gathered by Ogoninews has it that the court gave the order yesterday following a motion from some chapter leaders of MOSOP including Bob Maxwell, Obidiah Baah and Barinordum Ke-eeh in which the claimants urged the court to prevent Pyagbara from performing those acts on the grounds that his tenure as president of MOSOP had expired on December 31, 2018.

Ogoni News investigations reveal that the order had frustrated efforts by Pyagbara and members of KAGOTE who had been plotting to take over the leadership of MOSOP through a compromise with Pyagbara and had planned to announce a caretaker committee for MOSOP as soon as possible.

We will bring you more details on this.
