MOSOP Call for End to Hostilities Between Bomu and Lewe Communities in Ogoni

Advocates the Deployment of Traditional Means to Address Problem

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) calls for immediate end to renewed hostilities between the Bomu and Lewe people in Gokana local government area.
We are strongly disheartened by the sad news of fresh fighting breaking out between communities early this morning and we call for an immediate end to the fighting.

We have been in touch with the Nigerian Police on this issue and commend their prompt intervention at about 2am this morning. We further urge the Police to continue to maintain their presence in the area until peace is properly restored.

The MOSOP Executive Committee will convene immediately to take decisions on the way forward to addressing these problems including the deployment of traditional means of resolving these conflicts.

We will keep you updated on our decisions and actions.

Warmest regards,

Fegalo Nsuke
