MOSOP Set for Final Elections as Two Contestants Battle fpr Presidency

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has cleared two contestants for its presidential election this week. In a statement released by the chairman of the electoral committee, Chief Emmanuel Nkala, the battle for the presidency of the organisation will be between the current publicity secretary of the organisation and outspoken critic of Shell and the Nigerian government, Fegalo Nsuke and the current coordinator of MOSOP in Europe, Lazarus Tamana.

Two contestants were disqualified from the race including the current deputy president of the organisation, Fortune Okwa Chujor and a lawyer Naabulobari Nwin Naazigha-Lue.

The statement by Chief Emmanuel Nkala, electoral committee chairman listed the following candidates as cleared for the elections. The elections hold on Wednesday, December 19 at the MOSOP Secretariat in Bori at 10am.
