We Did Not Endorse Pyagbara - Eleme People

The Eleme chapter of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has described the visit by some few persons to the MOSOP president on Wednesday 18th October 2018 during which they passed a vote of confidence on Pyagbara, as a gimic aimed at dragging the name of Eleme Kingdom in bad light among the committee of kingdoms of Ogoni as the visit wasn't a collective decision of all members but a segmented few.

In a statement by the vice chairman of MOSOP, Eleme Kingdom, Elder Ejire Iyi, Mr Jigo Nkani, NYCOP coordinator, Chairman of all chairmen of NYCOP Mr Osaro Okparaji and others, the Eleme people described the visit as selfish and not representing the collective interest of the Eleme people and demanded an apology from those who visited Pyagbara.

MOSOP in Eleme re-stated their commitment to the Ogoni struggle and called for elections, which are overdue to be conducted as Pyagbara's tenure comes to an end in December 2018.
